Information for LEED® points.
SOLID STEEL Approximately 98% of the raw material used in steel bar production is either post-consumer or post-industrial recycled scrap steel.
-
Approximately 80% of this material is composed of post-consumer recycled content (collected and recycled after consumer use and after inclusion in consumer products: i.e. scrap metal from cars, etc.). The primary raw material for all such products is scrap steel.
-
Approximately 20% of this material is composed of post-industrial/pre-consumer recycled content (collected and recycled after industrial processes: i.e. cut-offs, machining waste, rejects, etc.). The primary raw material for all such products is scrap steel.
The majority of our steel bar raw materials are from mills within 300 miles of our Maryland manufacturing facilities. 100% of our steel bar material is from domestic (USA) electric furnace mills.

TUBULAR STEEL 63.6% (by cost) of the raw material used to manufacture this material is either post-consumer or post-industrial recycled scrap steel.
-
An average of 62.5% of this material is composed of post-consumer recycled content (collected and recycled after consumer use or after inclusion in a consumer product: i.e. scrap steel from cars). The primary raw material for all such products is scrap steel.
-
An average of 37.5% of this material is composed of post-industrial/pre-consumer recycled content (collected and recycled after industrial processes: i.e. cut-offs, waste from machining, rejects, etc.). The primary raw material for all such products is scrap steel.

RECYCLED PLASTIC More than 90% of the TOTAL raw material used in recycled plastic production is either post-industrial or post-consumer recycled plastic. The distribution varies from batch to batch depending on availability of recycled resin. Further, distribution can be altered to match project requirements based on available inventory of recycled resin and production schedules.
-
An average of 40% of this material is composed of post-consumer recycled content (collected and recycled after consumer use and after inclusion in consumer products). The primary raw material for all such products is HDPE recycled resin.
-
An average of 60% of this material is composed of post-industrial/pre-consumer recycled content (collected and recycled after industrial processes: including cut-offs, machining waste, rejects, etc.). The primary raw material for all such products is HDPE recycled resin.
Approximately 60% of raw materials used to manufacture this material were extracted/harvested/recovered in Iowa. Victor Stanley, Inc. extrudes its own recycled plastic.
